Creative Arts
The creative arts are hugely important at Sangamon. We have separate studios and skilled instructors for Woodshop, Pottery, Weaving, Rocketry, Photography, and Art & Crafts. Half the campers are involved in creative arts at any time of any day.
This is a GREAT place for artists and artisans! We have a fully-equipped darkroom with three enlargers; a pottery with four potter’s wheels; a weavery with six floor looms; a woodshop that builds anything from boxes and lamps to paddles and boats, a rocketry program that builds and flies 300 rockets a summer; and an art & craft program that teaches painting, silk-screening, sculpture; and more!
