Sailing - Camp Sangamon, Vermont Summer Camp for boys

Sailing

Skippered by Mike Byrom, Camp Director Emeritus, Sangamon's sailing program has grown from occasional trips to a daily full-time activity.

Sailing trips are co-ed, with each day-sail being comprised of 4 campers from Sangamon and 4 from our sister camp, Betsey Cox. Campers are taught the basics of sailing and have a chance to get behind the tiller of our J-24s. Its also a great opportunity for a swim in the beautiful lower Lake Champlain area.

We also take several overnight trips as well as a week-long adventure on our larger 28 and 30 foot yachts based in Mallets Bay near Burlington. Here, campers really get a chance to take control and explore Lake Champlain in its entirety while gaining depth in their sailing skills and learning about navigation and cruising. To book a place on one of these trips please contact mike@campsangamon.com.
